Draft — must be matched to a real cookie audit. The table below is a template. Before publishing, audit what this site actually sets and list only those cookies. A cookie policy that does not match the site's real behaviour is a compliance problem in itself.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember your actions and preferences between pages and visits. This policy also covers similar technologies — local storage, session storage and tracking pixels — which we refer to collectively as "cookies".
A first-party cookie is set by the site you are visiting. A third-party cookie is set by another domain, such as an analytics provider. A session cookie is deleted when you close your browser; a persistent cookie stays until it expires or you delete it.
2. What this site sets today
This website is a static marketing site. In its current form it sets no analytics, advertising or profiling cookies, and it loads no third-party tracking scripts.
It does load web fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. That request carries your IP address and user-agent to Google, though it does not set a cookie. See section 5.
If analytics, a chat widget, or marketing tags are added later, this policy and the table in section 4 must be updated to match, and a consent banner put in place before any non-essential cookie is set.
3. Categories we use
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function — for example remembering your cookie choices, or protecting forms against abuse. These do not require consent, and you cannot switch them off without breaking the site.
Preferences
Remember choices you have made, such as language. Optional.
Analytics
Help us understand which pages are useful and where people get stuck, in aggregate. Set only with your consent.
Marketing
Used to measure campaign performance and, where applicable, to show relevant advertising. Set only with your consent. [Confirm whether X-TENDS uses this category at all — if not, delete this subsection.]
4. Cookie table
Replace the rows below with the output of an actual cookie audit of the live site.
| Name | Provider | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| [cookie name] | x-tends.com (first party) | Strictly necessary | Stores your cookie consent choices so you are not asked on every page | [duration] |
| [cookie name] | [provider] | Analytics | [what it measures] | [duration] |
| [cookie name] | [provider] | Preferences | [what it remembers] | [duration] |
5. Third-party services
| Service | What it does | Data it receives | Their policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Fonts | Serves the Figtree and Inter typefaces | IP address, user-agent, referring page. No cookie is set. | policies.google.com/privacy |
| [analytics provider] | [purpose] | [data] | [link] |
If self-hosting the fonts is preferred — some regulators have taken a strict view of loading them from a third party — the two <link> tags in each page's <head> can be replaced with locally served font files, and this row removed.
6. Your choices
Where the site sets non-essential cookies, we ask for your consent first and do not set them until you agree. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through [link to cookie settings, once a consent tool is in place].
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything done before you withdrew it. Refusing non-essential cookies will not stop you using the site.
7. Browser controls
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking all cookies may break parts of some websites.
Most browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no agreed standard for how sites should respond to it; our current position is [state how X-TENDS responds to DNT / Global Privacy Control].
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever the cookies we use change. The effective date above shows the current version.
